Research

My Bioengineering research is focused on the implentation of medical textile technology for bone tissue engineering. Specifically, I am looking to design a system capable of creating a woven mesh that is able to serve as a scaffold for the differentiation of mesenchymal stem cells into osteoblasts. My Engineering Education research is focused on the introduction and promotion of STEM careers for K-12 students. I am also working on projects concerning the development of engineering and research identities in underrepresented undergraduate students majoring in the STEM disciplines.
